Chest Mount Crossover

Experienced CCR divers are adding the Dive Rite O2ptima CM to their dive locker as an addition or a replacement for their current unit. For backmount divers who are comfortable with their unit it’s a great option for small passages. For people wanting an upgrade to a higher quality or more reliable unit the choptima checks all the boxes. Whether you’re looking to make an addition or an upgrade, here are a few of the reasons why the choptima is the right choice.

There are a lot of unique elements that the choptima provides for experienced rebreather divers but the 3 most important are size, versatility and support.

‌Size: The choptima is a small unit that packs up ridiculously easily. It’s lightweight and compact above and below the water. It can be removed and passed up to the boat crew like a stage. It can fit into a carryon with space to spare. The unit is robust in ability but small in form factor.

‌Versatility: Chest mount units are plug and play with your existing configuration – a few extra drings and one extra hose. Single tank, doubles, sidemount – it does it all. This versatility means people can keep their core configurations and simply add on. The chop also allows for granular and packed scrubbers, options for QC6 connectors and hud/handset routing.

‌Service: Dive Rite is located in Florida so service and support for US based customers is very simple. There are so many horror stories of companies based outside of the US that keep unit for months to service them. Dive Rite is not only located in the US but they have speedy service and support.

Crossover Training

Manufacturers require a unit specific certification for their rebreathers. If you’re already certified on another CCR you get credit towards subsequent CCRs. The Dive Rite O2ptima CM  crossover course is typically 3 days long. In this program you’ll learn about the unit specific assembly, skills and maintenance that make it different from your existing CCR.
