How to Get Started.

  1. Let’s talk. Determine if I’m a good fit as your instructor.
  2. Pencil it in. Schedule course dates and pre-course video call(s).
  3. Formal items. Complete paperwork and pay course deposit.
  4. Get rolling. Receive elearning codes (if applicable) and a detailed course plan.

Class Buddies.

All diving courses require at least 2 participants. I cannot put a course on the schedule without at least 2 people. If you don’t have a buddy, we can work together to find one. Facebook groups, local dive sites, and your local dive shop are the best places to find a teammate for your diving class.

Training is $375/person/day.

Private Training is $700/day.

Unless otherwise indicated, all programs include:

  • Course materials.
  • Registration fees.
  • Tuition.

Potential additional expenses:

  • Charter fees.
  • Charter gratuities.
  • Gas fills.
  • Dive shop crew gratuities.
  • Travel expenses.
  • Gear rentals.
  • Meals.

Payment does not guarantee certification. There are no refunds for course tuition. 

Boat dives will range between $90-$100. Some boats charge for all attendees, even instructors. In that case, students are responsible for splitting the total boat fees. Please tip the boat crew daily. The boat crew accepts cash and venmo/etc tips. I suggest 15-20%. I tip them $20. If they do something extraordinary, then I tip more. You are responsible for boat fees and your tips – you are not responsible for tipping the crew for me.

Dive site entry fees range from State Parks ($4/car) to commercial sites ($40/person).

Fills and rentals are not included in course tuition. Ultimately, showing up with all your gear is your responsibility, but I can help arrange local rentals. Please let me know what you need to rent before the course so I can reserve and/or set aside items.
Trimix fills – Typically, trimix classes need to cover the costs of instructor gas fills. If you’re comfortable, I will dive my rebreather instead of open circuit for the deeper dives. I do this as a cost-saving measure for my students. You have the option for me to dive open circuit for the deep dives and cover fill costs.

These are typical course lengths. Some people need more. It’s always a good idea to plan an extra day for fun diving after your class as a backup training day.
